Do you speak more than one language?  How did you learn the additional languages?

Before I became a reading specialist, before I earned by degree in literacy, I wanted to be a Spanish teacher. I had a wonderful Spanish teacher in both high school (Ms. Napalitano) and college (that was the ONLY thing I liked about Concordia College). I then transferred to Mercy College for both my Bachelors and Master’s Degree.

UNFORTUNATELY Mercy College no longer had Spanish as a major, so my plans changed. I wonder how different my life would have been if I had majored in Spanish. As I listen to my son snoring, I thank God for guiding my in the right path. Another path may have never led me to my amazing little man.

Now, I wish  I could have learn Italian to pass onto my so…perhaps one day I will learn it. I’m only 37 and still have plenty to accomplish in life.

  1. You can totally learn a new language! You are young, young, young! I didn’t know any English until I was in kindergarten – I was born and raised a Frenchie! I totally see the value of multi-linguism. I hope you decide to take language classes one day. Maybe you’ll even get to practice in a foreign country one day! Dare to dream!! 😀
