I only thought of 7 things. I’m not liking summer at all right now. My body is on fire all the time and desperately waiting for test results to figure out what is wrong and how to fix it. I am always hot and sweating like an ice sculpture in the desert…it’s quite embarrassing.

1. LOTS of iced tea and water with some ice…nothing better than that. I prefer only a taste of iced tea, just enough to give me a sweet taste but mostly water to rehydrate.

2. Going to the local beach in town (though it’s not really a beach) even though I hate being in the sun and heat, Dino loves it. It will be awesome NOT having to pack him in swim diapers this time.

3. LOTS of AC blowing on me…I just can’t take this heat now…and am happy to sit in front of a freezing AC all day and night.

3. Barbecues with yummy sides…pasta salads, mozzarella and tomato salads, cucumber and chicken pea salads, fruit salads…mmmmm

4. Cool nights to take a walk or sit on the porch and drink Sangria. (I have previously done this…not anymore due to the issues listed above)

5. Salads for dinner Keeper of the Home recently posted a list of yummy salads. I can’t wait to try some of these for the summer.

6. Vacation where I can get all three meals cooked for me and I don’t have to clean the table or wash dishes…even if it’s just for 3 nights/4 days.

7. Having more time with my son to play outside, take day trips, or just chill at home.

  1. Oh I love the summer time for all the reasons you listed above and I am truly hoping you have some answers though real soon. Don’t hate me though, because I love the heat (mainly, because I am cold until the temperature reaches about 65 degrees).

    • I used to be like that…freezing in the winter and needing to be out in the heat. I used to drive home so bundled up in the winter that people would laugh at me…now I am practically naked in the winter..and that’s not a pretty sight. LOL

fF I don’t get answers soon, I will call every hour starting tomorrow morning.

  2. I’m sorry to hear you are having some medical problems. Being in the dark about what is wrong is so frustrating. I hope your test results give you some answers so you can be back to your old self in no time flat.
The beach. I like it because the kids love it. If it weren’t for them, I’d never go except to walk along it. Sand in every orifice and salt in the water hold no appeal for me.
I do enjoy a good barbecue with friends, though!
    And vacations are the BEST!

For some reason, some wordpress comment boxes won’t let me reply if I put my blogger website in it. Seems yours is one. Just want to let you know I’m the Christine from the chicken coop wall. 🙂

    • oh no, I’m sorry babe..I know on some blogger sites I have to type in my url in the comment box cause I can’t log in.

I plan on calling every hour starting tomorrow morning. Yes, bbqs are great with tons of yummy food. if only I had an indoor porch with an AC…LOLOL

    • yes…as Dino gets older it seems to get easier…with at least not bringing tons of items. If only the beach was actually in doors with AC…sighs.

  3. {Melinda} I’m so sorry you’re having a rough summer, Karen, and will be praying for speedy and clear answers to your health issues. I have chronic health problems, so I truly have empathy for you, sweet friend. <3

  4. What in the world?! I hope you find out what is going on! Any ailment of any sort makes summer quite miserable – from a cold to other things. Hopefully you get answers.

I loved your list – I feel cooler having just read it! 🙂

  5. I’m so sorry to hear you’re not well. There is nothing worse than trying to care for a LO when you feel like YOU need to be taken care of! Sending good vibes your way!

  6. haha I love that you only thought of 7 and I can’t believe how much you hate the heat! AND seriously how great is it NOT to worry about swimmie diapers!!!! Sweet tea reminds me of a hot southern summer however I prefer ice cold water with tons of lemon wedges squeezed in and sometimes a spoon full of sugar:)

PS thanks for the sweet words about my pregnancy 🙂

    • your welcome babe…my hubby loves lemonade…blah…I just can’t. I love being able to just get up and go…well that is after fights about what to wear and what toys to bring, LOL

  7. EHHHHHHHH I’m the worst. I totally overlooked the italized words!!! I’m sorry you aren’t feeling well either! Could it be premenapause? I hate to say that because you are young but after my ectopic pregnancy I started getting vicious hot flashes to the point where we would be int he grocery store in the middle of winter and I would start stripping until I coulnt’ take anything else off and then I would drop everything and we would just walk out. IT was horrible and lasted a year. I hope you are ok sweet lady:)

    • They said because I was on the pill it couldn’t be menopause related…or so they say. they don’t know if the pill caused it or if it’s my thyroid. I also had sever headaches, dizziness, and aching joints. Either way I will haunt them every hour starting tomorrow if I don’t hear something soon. thanks babe…I am starting to hate being around people for fear I smell, LOL

  8. You poor, poor thing! I couldn’t remember… do you have PCOS? I am like that all the time… sweaty and disgusting in the summer and then freezing in the winter. Thankfully, the metformin helps.

Julia @ Mom on the Run x2

    • HOLY MOLY????That sounds just like me? WTF? Why didn’t they ever mention this before? I am going to lose my mind if they say it’s nothing.

what do you mean friends are now my friends…I’m a little slow on the uptake sometimes babe, LOL

  9. I hope you get answers very, very soon! Praying for you!

We are so on opposite ends if the spectrum! I run my space heater at work because the air conditioner is too cold. While I’m at work I have the AC on in case it gets too hot for Jeffrey but when I get home it gets turned off until I leave again.

I luv BBQ with all the sides. Yummm!

  10. I hope you get some good news and some answers soon also. What a time to be struggling with this! Glad you’re able to still enjoy your summer days with Dino. I bet he loves going to the beach. My Weeman talks about going to the beach all the time. Unfortunately we just don’t have any near us, so we have to settle for the pool.

Would love to read your thoughts
