In the tradition of Emily Giffin and Marisa de los Santos, HOW LUCKY YOU ARE, is an engaging and moving novel about three women struggling to keep their longstanding friendship alive. Waverly, who’s always been the group’s anchor, runs a cozy bakery but worries each month about her mounting debt. Kate is married to a man who’s on track to be the next governor of Virginia, but the larger questions brewing in their future are unsettling her. Stay-at-home mom Amy has a perfect life on paper, but as the horrific secret she’s keeping from her friends threatens to reveal itself, she panics.
As life’s pressures build all around them, Waverly knows she has some big decisions to make. In doing so, she will discover that the lines between loyalty and betrayal can become blurred, happy endings aren’t always clear-cut, and sometimes you have to risk everything to gain the life you deserve.

Was NOT expecting the events to play out like they did. WOW…it goes to show you, You NEVER know what REALLY goes on behind closed doors…you never know what someone is REALLY facing or feeling.
I know if one of my friends was in this situation, there is nothing I wouldn’t do to save them. Just like I become a mother bear for my son, I would become a tigress for my friend…
Life is meant to be lived. Happiness comes from within, not from what you have, an image, or what you think the perfect life is.
Goodreads Summary: The Crime Writer
Drew Danner, a crime novelist with a house off L.A.’s storied Mulholland Drive, awakens in a hospital bed with a scar on his head and no memory of being found convulsing over his ex- fiancée’s body the previous night. He was discovered holding a knife, her blood beneath his nails. He himself doesn’t know whether he’s guilty or innocent. To reconstruct the story, the writer must now become the protagonist, searching the corridors of his life and the city he loves.
Soon Drew closes in on clues he may or may not have left for himself, and as another young woman is similarly murdered he has to ask difficult questions not of others but of himself. Beautifully crafted and heartbreakingly told, The Crime Writer, confronts our inherent fear of what we might truly be capable of—good or evil. Like nothing he’s written before, The Crime Writer, takes Hurwitz in an exciting new direction and is sure to reach a whole new audience.

WOW…first of all the same guy who reads for Halan Coben read this book too!!! It was heaven sent. I went changing who I thought really did this. Was it Drew? His ex-girlfriend? His friend? His editor? A detective? The juvenile delinquent?
Want to know? Then you’ll have to read and the ending will not disappoint you.

Goodreads Summary: Love the One You’re With
The New York Times bestselling author of Something Borrowed,Something Blue, and Baby Proof delivers another captivating novel about women and the choices that define them. This is the story for anyone who has ever wondered: How can I truly love the one I’m with when I can’t forget the one who got away?
Ellen and Andy’s first year of marriage doesn’t just seem perfect, it isperfect. There is no question how deep their devotion is, and how naturally they bring out the best in each other. But one fateful afternoon, Ellen runs into Leo for the first time in eight years. Leo, the one who brought out the worst in her. Leo, the one who left her heartbroken with no explanation. Leo, the one she could never quite forget. When his reappearance ignites long-dormant emotions, Ellen begins to question whether the life she’s living is the one she’s meant to live. Love the One You’re With is a powerful story about one woman at the crossroads of true love and real life.
Whoa, what a situation. I would say…I would never, but I have learned that you never really know what goes on behind closed doors or what people are going through and feeling. I hope she stands up for herself and isn’t fooled and used…and destroys her life.
Sometimes people think the grass is always greener on the other side…while it may seem that way…If you look closely, it could be fake, only on the surface, or cost way too much and doesn’t really help the people who live there.
