Goodreads Summary: The Tenth Circle Fourteen-year-old Trixie Stone is in love for the first time. She’s also the light of her father, Daniel’s life — a straight-A student; a pretty, popular freshman in high school; a girl who’s always seen her father as a hero. That is, until her world is turned upside down with a single act of violence. Suddenly everything Trixie has believed about her family — and herself — seems to be a lie. Could the boyfriend who once made Trixie wild with happiness have been the one to end her childhood forever? She says that he is, and that is all it takes to make Daniel, a seemingly mild-mannered comic book artist with a secret tumultuous past he has hidden even from his family, venture to hell and back to protect his daughter.

With The Tenth Circle, Jodi Picoult offers her most powerful chronicle yet as she explores the unbreakable bond between parent and child, and questions whether you can reinvent yourself in the course of a lifetime — or if your mistakes are carried forever.

Review: 5 Stars

** spoiler alert **

What a book.

Just because she said yes all those other times does not mean she said yes this time. Just because she didn’t say no and doesn’t mean she wanted it. So true to current society- a woman has to be virginal and PROVE that she did everything she could to stop him or she really wanted it. No, Jason, she really didn’t want it. Disgusting that teachers at the school wrote an anonymous letter to the newspaper making her the villain and saying she shouldn’t be allowed to attend.

Trixie was wrong for having Jason go down for drugging her…that was not a crime he deserved to be punished for, but once again she was trapped. She didn’t fight him off so she’s a liar?!??!?! It’s really sad that she had no other choice. It’s really sad that the whole town thought he was the victim and she the lying whore. The trial would have painted her as a liar.

I had a feeling that person killed Jason…it was pretty obvious.

I was NOT excepting that to the person who brought the drugs from Seth.

What great title…they really all were suffering in hell…the hell of their own making.

Goodreads Summary: Too Close Too Home

Linwood Barclay, critically acclaimed author of No Time for Goodbye, brings terror closer than ever before in a thriller where murder strikes in the place we feel safest of all. Promise Falls isn’t the kind of community where a family is shot to death in their own home. But that is exactly what happened to the Langleys one sweltering summer night, and no one in this small upstate New York town is more shocked than their next-door neighbors, Jim and Ellen Cutter. They visited for the occasional barbecue, and their son, Derek, was friends with the Langleys’ boy, Adam; but how well did they really know their neighbors?
That’s the question Jim Cutter is asking, and the answers he’s getting aren’t reassuring. Albert Langley was a successful, well-respected criminal lawyer, but was he so good at getting criminals off that he was the victim of revenge – a debt his innocent family also paid in blood? From the town’s criminally corrupt mayor to the tragic suicide of a talented student a decade before, Promise Falls has more than its share of secrets. And Jim Cutter, failed artist turned landscaper, need look no further than his own home and his wife Ellen’s past to know that things aren’t always what they seem.
Suddenly the Cutters must face the unthinkable: that a murderer isn’t just stalking too close to home but is inside it already. For the Langleys weren’t the first to die and they won’t be the last

Wow…what a beginning! Someone is going to find out Derek was there. So the neighbor’s wife caused this???? How? Why? Holy Sh*t this is going to be good.

I finally joined audible and got a free book for signing up. I decided to download another Harlan Coben book. Now I can listen to books while at the gym! To me that’s win-win. It might take me a while to finish this…but it’s all good…I rather listen to a book then music…to me it’s more motivating than listening to the same songs.

Goodreads Summary: No Second Chance

From Harlan Coben, author of back-to-back New York Times best-sellers Tell No One and Gone for Good, comes his most accomplished and electrifying work to date. The novelist who “serves up everything you could ask for in a can’t-put-it-down book . . . rocket-fast pace with solid emotional underpinning” (San Francisco Chronicle) returns with a thriller of explosive tension and breathless psychological suspense. No Second Chance is a breakneck ride where nothing is what it seems–and where hope and fear collide in the most surprising ways. Both a white-knuckle thriller and a story about the loyalty of old friends and the love of a father, No Second Chance is another masterpiece from an author who writes “suspense at its finest” (Jeffrey Deaver). PRAISE FOR HARLEN COBEN AND Gone for Good: “A killer thriller with more twists and turns than an amusement park ride. . . . Gone for Good is great.” –USA Today. “Coben stands on the accelerator and never lets up . . . riveting.” –People (PAGE-TURNER OF THE WEEK)

What a horrific nightmare to wake up to…his wife dead and daughter missing. I know this is going to be another twisted, mind f&ck of a read. I can’t wait. A perfect book to read while at the gym. I just hope I don’t start screaming, cursing characters, laughing, or crying while at the gym…that could be embarrasing.

  1. I loved The Tenth Circle, but then again anything Jodi Picoult has written has truly been enjoyed by me. And by the way, I will be linking up later this week as I finally have been reading again in the new year, too 😉

Would love to read your thoughts
