Goodreads Summary: Big Little Lies

Madeline is a force to be reckoned with. She’s funny and biting, passionate, she remembers everything and forgives no one. Her ex-husband and his yogi new wife have moved into her beloved beachside community, and their daughter is in the same kindergarten class as Madeline’s youngest (how is this possible?). And to top it all off, Madeline’s teenage daughter seems to be choosing Madeline’s ex-husband over her. (How. Is. This. Possible?).

Celeste is the kind of beautiful woman who makes the world stop and stare. While she may seem a bit flustered at times, who wouldn’t be, with those rambunctious twin boys? Now that the boys are starting school, Celeste and her husband look set to become the king and queen of the school parent body. But royalty often comes at a price, and Celeste is grappling with how much more she is willing to pay.

New to town, single mom Jane is so young that another mother mistakes her for the nanny. Jane is sad beyond her years and harbors secret doubts about her son. But why? While Madeline and Celeste soon take Jane under their wing, none of them realizes how the arrival of Jane and her inscrutable little boy will affect them all.

Big Little Lies is a brilliant take on ex-husbands and second wives, mothers and daughters, schoolyard scandal, and the dangerous little lies we tell ourselves just to survive.

My Review 5 Stars

The entire time I read this I was screaming, whooping, yelling gibberish unable to control my emotions. A total on the edge of your seat read! So suspenseful and grips at your emotions. Seriously, I was screaming like a lunatic in my car…people must have thought I was a whack job.

Spoilers below…highlight to read

((((Who died???? It was Perry and I hope he suffered…I hope he heard everyone saying they saw nothing, I hope he realized he was just the trash they threw out, I hope he realized Celeste won! Love how Renata was the first one to say she didn’t see anything.

OMG, as soon as Celeste said Saxton Banks was Perry’s cousin, I knew it was Perry using his name…I knew it was him who tormented and abused Jane and fathered Ziggy.

Once I realized Perry was an abuser, I knew it had to be one his boys that was the bully.

Poor Ziggy and Jane being harassed and tormented by those evil moms! All the lot of them were horrible. I am so glad the truth finally came out and Renatta had to apologize to Jane and Ziggy.

Sooooo glad Jane and Tim are together, she will finally have the love she always deserved and Ziggy will finally have a dad…someday!

Loved Madeline and all that she overcame and the person she became. Oh that Bonnie…I knew something must have happened…not everything is at is seems…Yay to Abigail finally realizing she needed her mom!

WTF Ed? Really? you couldn’t just keep your mouth closed, I know it was the ex-husband’s wife…but more about a an abuser who got what he deserved.))))

Goodreads Summary: Every Fifteen Minutes

Dr. Eric Parrish is the Chief of the Psychiatric Unit at Havemeyer General Hospital outside of Philadelphia. Recently separated from his wife, Caitlin, he is doing his best as a single dad to his seven-year-old daughter Hannah. His work seems to be going better than his home life, however. His unit at the hospital has just been named number two in the country and Eric has a devoted staff of doctors and nurses who are as caring as Eric is. But when he takes on a new patient, Eric’s entire world begins to crumble. Seventeen-year-old Max has a terminally ill grandmother and is having trouble handling it. That, plus his OCD and violent thoughts about a girl he likes makes Max a high risk patient. Max can’t turn off the rituals he needs to perform every fifteen minutes that keep him calm. With the pressure mounting, Max just might reach the breaking point. When the girl is found murdered, Max is nowhere to be found. Worried about Max, Eric goes looking for him and puts himself in danger of being seen as a “person of interest”. Next, one of his own staff turns on him in a trumped up charge of sexual harassment. Is this chaos all random? Or is someone systematically trying to destroy Eric’s life?

Okay…so is the sociopath the young kid or someone else? I’m so cnonfused already and hope in the end Eric comes out on top. I HATE, HATE, HATE Erjc’s soon to be ex-wife…she is pure evil and needs to be eradicated immediately. Can we have her end up a victim of the sociopath?
