Goodreads Summary:

Georgia Chambers has spent her life sifting through other people’s pasts while trying to forget her own. But then her work as an expert of fine china—especially of Limoges—requires her to return to the one place she swore she’d never revisit…

It’s been thirteen years since Georgia left her family home on the coast of Florida, and nothing much has changed, except that there are fewer oysters and more tourists. She finds solace seeing her grandfather still toiling away in the apiary where she spent much of her childhood, but encountering her estranged mother and sister leaves her rattled.

Seeing them after all this time makes Georgia realize that something has been missing—and unless she finds a way to heal these rifts, she will forever be living vicariously through other people’s remnants. To embrace her own life—mistakes and all—she will have to find the courage to confront the ghosts of her past and the secrets she was forced to keep…

Sneak Peek:

Chapter 3: page 31

“I was looking for an excuse to get away from my life for a while when my sister suggested I find out more about my Grandmother’s china. I’ve recently suffered a personal loss, and it was this or check myself into a mental hospital.”

Initial Thoughts

This will be a good summer read, I hope. I am looking forward to the family journey and uncovering of secrets. I think there might be a few laughs between lots of emotion.

Here are some rules if you decide to join in HERE:

• Pick up whatever book you are reading (non-fiction, fiction, children’s… really the sky is the limit)
• Open to any page you have already read
• Share a few “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page – make it interesting without flipping to a ton of different pages.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away — You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so we can all add your book to our To-Be-Read lists!

This particular link up will be open for a month, so stop by often to share a new sneak peek, and grow your own TBR list!
