What’s New?

all new

I am going to do my best to keep blogging and reading blogs…I took a long needed break and hopefully got organized and ready to stay organized.

This week’s Listicles:

NEW TOYS: that need to be find a place to where they won’t take up too much room.

school bus magnets hess truck hat and gunNEW CHRISTMAS CARD: I really loved our card this year, it really captured Dino’s personality.

NEW CELEBRATIONS: Each year brings new celebrations and joys. To start off this year, Balboa’s 8th birthday was on the 5th…time sure if flying around here.

frameNEW POUNDS: all the delicious food that was hard to deny and now sits on my body

NEW MEMORIES: Dino once again surprised me and understood more about Christmas this year. It was wonderful to watch and live this holiday through his eyes.

NEW CHALLENGES: as to what to buy family and friends AND making sure the magic of Santa lives on for our son

NEW CLOTHES: with gift cards I stacked up on clothes and undergarments from Dress Barn and Soma…so excited.

NEW PEAPOD SERVICE: you all know I use Peapod, but now they have pickup in addition to delivery. By picking up my order each week, I don’t have to pay for a delivery fee…that’s a savings of $7 a week!

Free - no pick-up fee. Pick-up your groceries free. No minimum.

NEW ORGANIZATION: set up a meal plan, pantry organization, coupons to get and stay organized. Though let’s not forget, to save money, as well.  Sunday Coupon Inserts is a great service, for less than a dollar each you can purchase all the coupon inserts.

Christmas as a Mom

Finish the Sentence FridayThis week’s sentence is My favorite Christmas Tradition is..”

…enjoying Christmas through my son’s eyes. Yes I know it;s not really tradition, but to me is another reason I love being a mom. You all know how difficult it was for me to become a mom. I spent so many days/nights crying scared that so many moments of my life would be childless. Now watching Dino open gifts on Christmas morning is just another joy of motherhood.Watching Dino light up when he sees Santa or watches a Christmas movie swells my heart with love.

The gift of Dino is the best EVERYDAY gift I ever got. He makes the holidays truly special and momentous.

The Christmas I was prego with Dino…before it all changed for Balboa.

Chilling with Balboa and Mommy

It’s Saturday and time for my story once again.

CollageThis week I’ve been doing a lot of chilling with my dog, Balboa. He can be grumpy sometimes, but other times he just wants to lay next to me, watch TV, and see if he can sniff an extra crumb of food.

I need to relax after working hard all week. Remember last time I got to blog and told you how much work I am doing in school…well it continues. My brain keeps growing. Do you think I might run out of space for all the new things I am learning?

I think I work even harder than Mommy and Daddy, but when Mommy picks me up she won’t let me play for a few extra minutes. That’s not fair. Can one of you talk to her about that?

Even though she won’t give me those extra few minutes to play (and she left my lunch box and water at school) I still love her. We have fun taking pictures and Mommy lets me look at them to see which are my favorites. I love being silly with Mommy.

It’s Saturday and time for my story again. Last Saturday Mommy was sick and very tired and couldn’t help me load my post. I think she should have been stronger like me and just did it anyway.

There has been tons of things going on with me.

I love to help my mommy clean, she says I’m so good at it and a big help. I like when I help Mommy. She asked me to make sure all the forks, knives, and spoons were in in the correct spaces. Mommy said to not worry, they aren’t steak knives and I know not to play with the knives.

(This was a few weeks ago).  Even Balboa was having a good time, even if he kept trying to send mind messages to Mommy to give him more treats. Table for 7Tuesday Tastings

Grilled chicken, cheesy potatoes, hot dogs…OH MY

Hubby was in caveman mode as he grilled….wish I had gotten a picture of that, next time I will.

  • thin sliced, skinless, boneless chicken breasts (marinated in goya seasoning)
  • hot dogs

  • I washed, cut, and marinated small red potatoes in goya and table mix seasoning
  • baked in the oven at 350 for about thirty minutes
  • when done, I let them cool off on stove top and sprinkled shredded mozzarella cheese on top

It was a BIG hit…EVERYONE ate their dinner…

Don’t let Balboa’s sad and hungry face fool you. He eats well around here. He gets not only dog food, but a little bit of hot dog, chicken, and potato. He would eat till his tiny stomach explodes.CAM05782

Let's Get Social SundaySuper Sunday Sync

Yup changing my Sunday format again…think it’s best just to do a roundup and silly photos on Sundays. It’s going to get hectic with September approaching. I think doing silly photos and a round up will still allow me time to post on Sundays but not be too overwhelming.

Dino dressed me up and had me take a pic of us…he thought I looked good.

The Golden Sideboob

What a boobtastic, boobawsome, booaliscious award, right? Boobies rule! They give nourishment and look great. I was never able to breast feed, but irks me when moms who do get grief for doing it in public. A woman can walk around, her boobs almost falling out, nipples almost showing, or headlights on full blast and that is not only hot, but okay. But when a mom feeds her baby, the way nature intended, it’s the most disgusting and embarrassing thing?

Seriously people…GET A GRIP.

Anyway this awesome award was given to me by Janine from

Janine's Confessions of A Mommyaholic

Of course I feel like a boob, because I didn’t see it until now…yup…my brain is mushed up. For this award you must thank the person who nominated you…THANK YOU JANINE FOR MY AWESOME GOLDEN SIDEBOOB AWARD! The second thing is to nominate another person who will appreciate getting the award…well…who would love getting boobies…hmmm. I wish I could nominate all of you…but that would be a long list. So I am nominating…

Lisa from The Squishable Baby

Karen from Baking in a Tornado

Carla from Real Into

Super Sunday Sync

Dino has come down with a stomach bug…I guess. I am fighting it off with acidophilus and lots of fluids. Poor Dino is happy one minute and suddenly filled with terror as he knows any minute he will throw up. I am not making matters any better by rushing over to and invading his space with a bucket as I wait for the inevitable. At one point he cried to not make him throw up…poor thing thought I wanted him to throw up…I hate when my normally happy, wild, energetic, and sweet boy is not feeling well.

About two weeks ago I mentioned that I was not feeling well and had a bunch of tests done…the results….I am fine?!?!?!?!?! I am lacking in some Vitamin D, but normal? Having tests tell me I’m normal when I know something is not right is scary and frustrating. I just don’t know what to do and hoping God leads me in the right direction. I am continuing to pray to Him and hoping that I am just stressed and this is His way of telling to focus more on myself to in turn be a better wife and mom.

Now onto Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Camouflaged: Okay, Balboa’s not really camouflaged…but he is trying to hide from a sick Anthony and mommy who is washing and wiping everything.

Nutty: We are all feeling a little nutty with Dino being sick…I have never washed so many sheets and towels in one day.

Alike: How are these alike???? They are there to replenish a queasy mommy and to have in case I get sick too…which I am NOT…I have taken acidophilusto hopefully prevent any bugs.

Identical: According to Dino, each and every car and truck is the best and coolest…all the same in bringing him pleasure…but we love to sort by color and size.

Jaunt: I would so love that tiny piggy bank to be filled with $100 bills that I can use to just get away for a day…a day of massages and food service….sighs

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

@thefrilloflife suggested the top ten pics you’ve taken
How could I only pick ten? Which ten would I choose, then I decided to take a trip down memory lane. I have to say that I cried as I looked at these pictures. They brought back strong emotions and memories, if you get emotional…here’s a virtual tissue and an apology.
Let’s begin with Balboa. In my dark days when the thought of being a mommy was impossible, Balboa filled that void. He sure is one SPOILED doggy. Hubby did buy him from a breeder. If I had known them what I know now I would have never done that, adoption is the way to go. Then again it was hubby’s surprise to me when he didn’t ‘t know
what else to do.  Balboa was so tiny and I felt like a mom. While it didn’t ease the heartbreak or fill the void, having my Boobalah around made me happier.
dog_2 napping me and mommy 4
Then God blessed us with a miracle. Out of only two chances with IVF, we were luck on our first try and I was pregnant. I had a life growing inside of me. I was going to be a mommy. While this is NOT the first pic of our son, I do have one when he was a three-day old embryo, it is still important to me. This picture shows that he was the baby I was waiting so many years for and will love forever.
5 weeks 5 days with text
After my emergency c-section and subsequent cleaning and forced stomach crunches…LOL…I was wheeled into the NICU to meet my son. I had an old phone but still captured this moment. I called his name and he turned his head and looked at me. I don’t care if he could see me or not, he SAW me, he FELT me, he KNEW me…I sobbed in the moment. Sad that I could not hold him, but joyous that I had a son and he knew I was his mommy.
night of delivery
He was a tiny guy, 4lbs 6oz, but a fighter and so full of love and personality even back them.
He was such a trouble maker even back then…but cuter than can be. He’s all mine, temper tantrums, food spitting, farting, roaring, hugs, squeezes, kisses, kindness, stubbornness, love, compassion, and energy wrapped up in an adorable package. I am blessed.

Dress up with Mommy

coverIt’s Saturday and time for my story again. Even though Mommy can be mean sometimes by making stupid rules, she is a good mommy. I don’t always want to clean up, eat my food, or get dressed; but she makes me. She says it’s because she loves me, but I think she likes to torture me.

Though she has a evil side, she can be lots fun too. When I want to act silly, dress up, and take pics with my mom being silly she does without thinking twice. She says she wants me to have lots of memories of all the fun we had together, but I think she might use these pics against me when I am older. I may have to hack into her account and delete them.

Anyway, here are some photos of us having fun playing dress up. CAM03565 CAM03561 CAM03560 CAM03552 CAM03554 CAM03558 CAM03551 CAM03550 CAM03549

I tried to make Balboa dress up too, but he refused.

Does your mommy do silly and fun things with you?
