Hi everyone, time for my story again. If you know my mommy, then you know that she is terrified of heights. So when Daddy planned to take us to the Walkway over the Hudson, Mommy didn’t really know what she was getting herself into.

Mommy was shaking most of the time or stopping to hold onto Daddy to make sure she didn’t fall off…I think she was over reacting a bit…there was no way to fall off. Besides it was so cool to be that high up and see the clouds up close. The trees, houses, cars, and trains all looked so tiny under us. Thankfully Mommy brought my stroller, I could never have walked both ways on that bridge…it was a LONG walk and I got tired really fast.

After we walked back, we sat in the shade and had lunch…it was cool watching everyone walk on and off the bridge. Then after lunch I got to ride my bike in the shade on a path before the bridge. I had to watch out for all the people, but it was super cool.

I want to to it again, but maybe on a day that’s not so hot.

Amanda suggested 10 RIDICULOUS THINGS I SAW ONLINE. Some are ridiculous and some are just too funny. I tried to get Hubby to participate.  While he found some outrageous things I couldn’t post them, he didn’t understand the whole copyright and source of information.

That is why they are still working on that road, LOL

I have roadwork on my street and they said it would be done in 3 months its been like 4 and its not even close to finished XD

We all wish we could do this

This is so true…

BIG YES TO THIS…I just can’t help myself.

LOLOLOLOL...so guilty of this

I have thought about this…it would be pretty funny. Imagine getting a response back…”Thanks, I’m wiring the money now.”

Pretty much how I feel

Scary how some moms really do feel they need to keep up or feel inadequate…come spend time with me and we’ll make fun of the “perfect show-offs”.

LOLOLOLOL..have you seen some of those warning labels…scary that someone did something pretty stupid to have the warning put on in the first place.

haha love this!

I have done this quite a few times. Thanks mom brain.

been there done that

 Way too funny!

Going to make sure Dinosaur is independent, self-sufficient, knows how to clean and do laundry, and can cook…so my future DIL never says this behind my back, LOL

Dear Mother-In-Law, I don't need you to teach me how to handle my children. I live with one of yours, and he needs a lot of improvement!

Lisa from The Dose of Reality commented that she was on “Team Dino”.  Finally
a smart mommy…I loved it so much that I am going to use it from now on. That’s
right…Who is on Team Dino?

Team Dino

You can be on Team Dino if…

you think dinosaurs are cool and rock…and if you can ROAR really loud. Go give it a try…let your dinosaur geek out.

you think monsters and robots are cool, but not as cool as dinosaurs.

you think farts, poop, and burps are FUNNY.

you think couches, beds, tables, chairs, and drying racks are really indoor playgrounds.

you enjoy both breaking and hiding your parent’s things.

you wake up super early, jump out of bed and onto your parents, and demand they play with you.

you are super cute and use that to get away with being naughty.

So you ready to join Team Dino?

Mommy wanted me to let you all know that starting next Thursday she’ll be hosting an organization blog hop. Even though Mommy is always organizing, she still makes lots of messes and fails with her organization.  So come on by and link up ANY post about organizing.

Wednesday  a ruined dinner…while it looked tasty and healthy (turkey sausage and veggies) I left it in the oven too long and stupidly added too much seasoning and it was too salty…YUCK

Music Dino’s musical puppy from when he was a newborn…sniffles…boy this brings back memories. He still sleeps/plays with it. I will have to baggie this and keep it always…more sniffles.

Finish the Sentence Friday

This week’s sentence is In church I learned to…”

This was a tough one… I am a practicing Catholic go to church almost every Sunday…though the last few Sundays I have not gone because I wasn’t feeling well. Little AC and an overly sweating mom is not a good combination.

Do I talk about going to church when I was younger and not really understanding  and seeing it as a chore. Do I talk about my independent stage when I stopped going and wasn’t sure of my faith. Then I decided to focus on going to church as a mom.

In Church I learned to see God through my son’s eyes. I learned to praise Dino for enjoying putting the envelopes in the baskets, I learned to appreciate it when he hears the priest say God and he starts his own prayer, I take pleasure in him watching with fascination as the priests, alter boy/girls, and communion bearers walk into church. I learned that being the best-dressed, quietest, having more money to give, or having the biggest family doesn’t change the way God sees you. He loves you for you and wants you to honor him with your heart and soul. He knows who truly has faith outside of church and who is just pretending.

He loves to shakes the priests hands and move to the music, to him having faith is not a chore but a wonderful feeling of joy and pride. Dino loves singing “God is bigger than the boogie man. He’s bigger than you and me.”  from the Veggie Tales. God IS bigger than us all and is always there for us.

And next week’s sentence to finish: “The best and worst parts of blogging are…”

Egg whites, cheddar cheese, spinach, with Goya seasoning. Dino refused to even taste it because of the spinach.

Rotini with olive oil and butter and spinach. Thin-sliced chicken cutlets, marinated in
olive oil and Goya seasoning…topped with Parmesan cheese. Dino had some Rotini
and only two bites of chicken.

Leftover pasta and chicken mixed with sauteed veggies in Mrs. Dash seasoning (Caribbean lime) and turkey kielbasa. Dino refused any kielbasa, but did eat the veggies and pasta.

Nature Center

 PicMonkey Collage

It’s Saturday and time for my story again.

Last Sunday we celebrated Father’s Day and daddy decided to do the coolest thing. We went to the Stamford Nature Center. I LOVE it there. There are so many animals to see, even if it smells really bad. They need to wash those animals. The only animals I didn’t want to see were the roosters, they are too loud.

Mommy took lots of pictures but she wasn’t in any this time. It’s not that she’s afraid to get in front of the camera, she just wanted it to be all about me and daddy.

my daddy

I love my mommy, but I also love my daddy. He’s super cool and brave.

He watched me go down the big slides.

He walked with me and told me about the animals and showed me to not be afraid of the quails.

He laughed when I was silly on the BIG pirate ship.

He sat with me and we ate our sandwiches together. I told him I loved him and he loves me back, but I already knew that.

How do you have fun with your family?

Finish the Sentence Friday

And now for this week’s sentence to finish:  “This summer I plan to…”
And next week’s sentence to finish:  ”When I was younger, I wanted to…”

”This summer I plan to……”

get in shape. Don’t get me wrong, I am not going to diet or change the way I look because I hate my body. I truly believe we women need to love ourselves and show positive body acceptance for our children. How will they know to love themselves if we don’t show them?

I do however, want to get in shape. I want to be able to run and jump around with Dinosaur without feeling like I might collapse form a coronary. I want to take long walks up hills and not fall over and lie on the floor like a beached whale. While on vacation, I want to be able to do whatever Dinosaur wants and not hold him back because I can’t.

I want to eat healthier meals and try to limit the processed foods and hormone-filled meats that come into our home. I can’t buy organic, just too expensive, but I can cook a few vegetarian meals that will ROCK!

no excuses

A strategically placed post-it note near my pillow ensures that I WILL do Yoga in the morning.

1. What’s the one personal hygiene thing you will not do in front of your spouse? OH BOY, Can I really share that on this blog, LOL. I think it would have to be anything related to when AF visits the house. I’m sure he’s seen things by accident in our eighteen years together, twelve of which we’ve been married. Though I would prefer him not to, but that is marriage, right? Now as a mom I try to keep the door closed.  My son is slowly starting to understand privacy, since I give it to him when he’s in the bathroom.

2. What’s your favorite thing about a newborn? Of all the things I missed about Dinosaur being a baby, the thing I miss the most is the unspoken connection I felt with him. We still have that connection, but as a newborn I had to rely on his facial expressions, coos, and movements to understand what he wanted. I loved looking in his eyes and seeing his love for me and recognizing my love for him.

3. When is “too young” to have a Facebook account? Oh wow, there are some adults that are even too immature to even have Facebook, LOL. I think I would freak out when Dinosaur has a Facebook page, but I hope not till high school. I mean, middle school is really young right? Dino is just about four, I can’t imagine the teenager he will be and what will happen. Oh man, I can’t even imagine him a teenager, LOL.

4. What are your hoping for for Mother’s Day? I gave hubby a list of links for crafts he can do with our son. That is what I want most for Mother’s Day gift, a handmade gift made by both my boys. A gift my son can see me proudly hang on our wall or use. Then I want some time to myself, after working all day and traveling from school to school, I really just want time to myself.

5. What was the best field trip you ever took in school? I honestly don’t remember my field trips. My years at Catholic school were a blur, I was bullied and have pretty much blocked it all out. I have been informed we did go to a ranch one weekend when we were in eighth grade and I happend to be taking our son to that same ranch. For me, it’s really like the first time going there, so I can’t wait.
