I Messed Up

Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked 4 – 6 words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That’s the challenge, here’s a fun twist; no one who’s participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.

Matt Damon~ Winnebago~ Celebratory dance~ Best

They were submitted by: http://berghamchronicles.blogspot.com

I had a great post but then I deleted it by accident while looking it over on my phone. So I am sitting here and trying to recreate it, but failing miserably. Seriously, how did I do that? Why can’t I undo or find it? I am shocked that this happened and am limited as to what I can do right now.

When I first saw the words, I immediately emailed Karen and said the dirtiest tthoughts came into my mind. Seriously, good job wth the words Jules. I mean, where else could my mind have gone with Matt Damon, doing a dance, being the best in a spacious home on wheels?????? hmmmmmmm

There was supposed to be a Matt Damon gif here

Though the image of a celebrity is always better than reality. The real Matt Damon would probably leave his underwear on the floor, miss the toilet, and be a loud chewer.  Yeah, he’d be kicked out while I kept driving.

There was supposed to be a cool winnebago pic here

Have you seen a Winnebago? I’d love to go on vacation in a Winnebago. Though, I’ve seen horror movies that involve that as well, so I’d need get my firearm licence and stock up to protect myself against zombies, cannibals, and psychos. So many surfaces, so many spots, so much room! Sighs…

There was supposed to be a zombie gif here

I know I have taken what could have been one of the best experiences, and just added a sick and twisted edge to the whole story. Sorry, one of the negatives of reading gory psychological thrillers.

There was supposed to a picture of a setting sun and a mountain

Well, maybe after we destroy all the evil, we could dive around, never running out of gas and firearms, and start over. It would end with a romantic celebratory dance with a gorgeous setting sun in the background. That is until he pisses me off with a bad habit and he accidentally trips over the edge of the mountain.

So that’s it. I tried to rewrite it best I could. Sorry

I had another idea, The Scooby Doo Mystery Team with Matt Damon as Fred! I just couldn’t think of who I should cast as the other members of the team.

Okay, it’s Thursday at 5:30 pm and I’m finally writing this post. I hope this post makes a bit of sense, but it just may contain crazy and unrelated ramblings.

Yup totally behind and a bit stressed with writing reading reports. They are due now even though meetings are not scheduled till March, April, and May. At least I only have one more report to write. The anticipation of it all is overwhelming, then once you get started, it’s not that bad. If only I was living in a fairy tale I could have animals write the reports. No wait, I could swish my fingers and use my magic powers.

My parents are both living the retirement life now and loving every minute of that life. I can only imagine what it would feel like to not have to commute to work and just enjoy being at home. Though, I’m a home body, so I enjoy being at home anyway. I laugh when I hear some retirees say that being home with their spouse all the time is like being in jail.I guess I sometimes feel like hubby’s my inmate in a loony bin when AJ and Bonus are wild and loud.

Guess it could be worse, I we could be immortal. Being in love with a vampire seems like a perfect romance, but you are stuck with them for all eternity. Yup, that would drive me insane if they kept the same annoying habits they had in their mortal life. Someone would have to lose a limb. Just kidding, but seriously they would lose a limb.

Must Read Thrillers

Why???? Why? is every thriller being compared to Gone Girl and Girl on the Train? Why????????

Gone Girl was impressive because of the complete change of the character’s way of thinking and her plotting. She planned something and led those in her life to believe one thing then revealed she lied and why she lied. She was devious, twisted, and warped. The author planned the entire book around the character tricking and deceiving others. Girl on the Train was fantastic because a character was tricked by a sociopath. Slowly, with the character, readers begin to realize what is really going on and what is happening. A good thriller is synonymous with terror, blood-curdling fear, and leaves you wondering how you will ever feel safe again.

Shitty thrillers just change the plot or characters voice mid-book without any clues, reason, or thoughtful writing. Making a character suddenly admit to killing someone, lying to others, or stealing something without a reason or plan in the end is not a good thriller; it’s terrible writing. ENOUGH of wasting readers time on thrillers that even TRY to compare to Gone Girl.

Which thrillers should you avoid??? Don’t read these books unless you prefer a thriller that lets you down or insults your intelligence. Here are some less than exciting thrillers I have read in the last few months.

You’re probably thinking who am I to judge what makes a good thriller. Well, I read 4-5 books a month, 263 books thus far and most are thrillers. I’ve been tricked before by the promise of a great thriller and found impressive and spine-chilling thrillers by word of mouth and searching around.

Books with only 3 stars…and I was being generous.

Which thrillers are a must read???? These books got 5 ***** stars and are worth reading…if you dare.

These books are twisted, sick, and gory; nothing tasteful here. Some will make you sick others will leave you shocked to the core. These are the best thrillers I have recently read.

Okay, the last two Christmas Even AJ has gotten sick. I don’t mean a cold, I mean throwing up all over the place. In 2014 he threw up two hours before we were meant to go out to a Chinese restaurant. Of course I swore I felt sick too and only ate the rice when we had to eat take out instead.

christmas-eve-sick

my mom comforting a sick AJ

Next year, 2015, Anthony threw up again. This time he got sick from too much candy and goodies. He threw up, but this time we ordered food ahead of time just in case.

This Christmas Eve I will make sure he has the intestinal fortitude to not throw up. I will give him extra probiotics, make sure the teacher limits his candy at the classroom party, and keep all candy and chocolate away at home.

A fellow OAD (One and Done) mom friend invited me to join a group on Facebook. I am loving it, knowing other parents are just like me. We all have one child, either by choice or not, and can share ideas, laughter, and memories. Some worry that their child might be lonely, others worry they won’t have the proper manners. Though most only children I know have the best darn manners around. He says please and thank you when it really counts without being told.

In fact, the few kids who bother and bully AJ are kids in a house with a sibling or a few. It seems to me that they aren’t getting enough attention at home and bullying other kids makes them feel better.

Thankfully AJ wants to be friends with everyone. Even if you are mean to him one day, he will be your friend the next day. He just jumps right in when he sees kids playing and everyone loves playing with him. He is a sweet, kind, and caring guy and I am so proud to be his mom.

ant

When I think about his future, I hope he will be happy and do what he loves. I hope he will find someone who loves him and treats him with respect. I hope they sweep each other off their feet.

Retail? How can I add retail to this post???? Hmm, I have 95% of my Christmas shopping done. I have 80% of it wrapped and organized. I need to get my butt in gear, don’t I? Thankfully most of my shopping was done online. I try not to ever shop in stores, walking into retail this time of year zaps all the Christmas spirit right out of your body. I rather stay at home, watch ELF, drink coffee and shop online.

Thank goodness for Amazon!!!!

Must we seriously have Christmas decorations out in stores before Halloween every ended??? It’s so annoying. Every time I go into a store with AJ he kept asking about buying something Christmas. My response is that I refuse to acknowledge that the products are even out yet. I got a few chuckles from other moms.

I want to run up and down the aisles knocking every item off the shelf. Imagine how fun and liberating that would be. I can dream, can’t I?

xmas

Right now, besides trying to get ready mentally and physically for the holidays, I need to start prepping for the cold weather. We need to stock up on basics incase a storm ensues and we are out of, God forbid, bread and milk,  What would we eat?????? shrieks in terror.

img_7906

Sorry, I couldn’t t help it. Though it’s good to have the basics during the months of possible snow storms. I try to create a pantry of peanut butter, jelly, bread, crackers, protein bars. I also like to have hummus, cheese, crackers, tuna fish, and lots milk. I should start preppingh now as you never know when I storm might hit. Tony is the one who preps all the safety items, flashlights, candles, and lanterns.

Great minds think alike ~ Hippocampus ~ Queen ~ Star

They were submitted by: http://berghamchronicles.blogspot.com

Okay, another crazy rant of an overworked and exhausted mom. I hope this makes sense as you read the following.

What a collection of words, right? I actually had to look up hippocampus, I knew it was in the brain, but not sure what it did. According to numerous sites…. “The hippocampus is a small region of the brain that forms part of the limbic system and is primarily associated with memory and spatial navigation.” Okay, does that mean I have a small hippocampus because I am a huge klutz and can’t remember crap. Or maybe that is mom brain, or do moms have smaller hippocampuses after they have their first kids. Does each kid make the hippocampus even smaller, or it just shrinks once? I know I keep typing hippocampus, but it’s a funny word.

In all seriousness though, in diseases like Alzheimers, the hippocampus is the first to be damaged. To lose all your memories and not recognize family is truly debilitating and horrific.

Do you have a friend that when you just look at them you know you are on the same page. Well if you are, then great minds think alike. Okay, I know that was pretty lame. But seriously, don’t you love when you and your friend have the same ideas, you just know its meant to be. A good friend can make you feel like the Queen of life or the star of the show. Good friends don’t want to out shine you or embarrasses you. Rather they will join in your embarrassment or save the day.

Perhaps one day you were dancing like fools in the car, not trying to outdo each other, but make each other laugh and enjoy the moment. Or perhaps you and your friend were making fools of yourselves in Home Good. It couldn’t be helped when one of you saw the huge, red, round ornament. Who could have predicted that the older woman would be walking around the corner at the same time you were being lewd with the ball. No fear, it only made the moment even funnier.

I apologize for any hippocampus shrinking after reading this.

They were submitted by: http://spatulasonparade.blogspot.com/

I laughed at the collection of words! Seriously, how awesome of a mix. There was so many ways I could write this. We all think The Magic School Bus was an amazing television how that made science awesome and fun for kids. It made kids want to learn. We regard it as educational videos, but instead it could just be a delusion brought on by smoking some really heavy weed.

Think about it, the big yellow bus could symbolize a huge golden pot filled with weed. Each kid could symbolize a stereotype in life and the teacher, Mr. Fizzle is the dealer. She’s driving around getting people hooked on her magic bus.  The students are happy to get out of school, or rather their soul-sucking jobs, and space out on that magical bus.

960

Come on the bus! I have special brownies for you!

Even better, they should make this an American Horror Story Episode. You are trapped on the a magical bus that shrinks you and takes you to disgusting places where the terror is nothing you could have ever imagined in your worst nightmares. All you can do is keep smoking the weed and hope you wake up-but you never do. Or one by one, Ms. Frizzle makes you live out your worst nightmares and you die slowly and painfully.

15-times-ms-frizzle-from-the-magic-school-bus-sho-2-564-1402679888-22_dblbig

Once you get on the bus, you can never get off.

Perhaps the worst thing that could happen is a porn is made off this. I really hope there isn’t one already. Isn’t it sad that there are people who say, “Oh wow, what a cool show or movie. I know how to make it even better, let’s turn it into porn.”

Yup, I totally went off on a tangent and made no sense. I am overworked with little sleep. No, I have NEVER smoked pot or taken any drugs. I just have a weird imagination.

Your words are:

pennies ~ pocket lint ~ trapped ~ proper ~ back in black ~ munch

They were submitted by:  http://climaxedtheblog.blogspot.com

Summer is almost over and that means back to work. Yes, a good thing because I need money, since this pocket lint will not pay the bills or buy groceries. Seems that we only keep saving pennies, not the big bucks we need to really build up a good nest egg.

pennies

It’s annoying to feel trapped by a money, feel trapped going to work everyday and and making just enough to pay bills. Just once I would like to have a good and proper nest, a cushion so we are not living paycheck to paycheck. Don’t get me wrong, we are in way living beyond our means, no we are cutting back on quite a bit. Is is wrong to dream of things going right just once in life?

debtI dream of sitting at home all day, munching on chocolate and cheese, while watching Criminal Minds, Murdoch Mysteries, Law and Order SVU, Bones, American Horror Story, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. In reality I need to get back in black or rather I should say slip on my Merrills and reactivate my Audible account.

tv cllage

Since that will NEVER happen, I will keep working and trying to save. I will keep using coupons and budgeting every aspect of our lives. Maybe just one day it will pay off.

I can’t wait to go on vacation, seriously, I need to get away. I don’t want to do laundry, cook, or clean. I love where we go, as all the meals are included and there is always something fun for AJ to do. In fact, there is always a nighttime event for kids, so AJ is exhausted at night and sleeps late the next morning…which is a heaven.

I might just start humming as the days get closer and  I know I can just enjoy this time. When are we going? Sorry, can’t tell you that. I don’t think it’s safe at all to tell ANYONE when we are going on vacation. I don’t care if someone is staying behind watching our house or not. I just don’t believe it’s safe in letting the internet know you are out of town and basically inviting criminals to break in and rob us blind.

Some say it’s an expensive vacation and we could find a place to go that would be a lessor cost. The fact that we don’t have worry about meals or finding daily activities is a blessing. We do bring a snacks and plastic water bottles, in case we get the munchies in the early morning or late nights.

Though perhaps next summer we might exchange our normal plans for a different place, We’ll have to see what AJ thinks, since the vacations are all about him, right?

We would like to invite our parents, but it can be quite expensive for Grandmas and Grandpas. Though, it would be nice to have extra people to watch Anthony so mommy and daddy can get some quiet time for dinner or to just sleep!

Nothing like realizing the next day is the Use Your Words post and not only do you have nothing written, but you can’t find the email. Note that this is NOT the first time that has happened. I think Karen should start charging me for losing emails. Normally I do create the post as soon as I get her email, but there are times I am incredibly busy or lazy.

As I type this I am thinking what in the hell am I going to write up for the post? Then as I stare at the words, and keeping staring, take a drink of seltzer and keep staring all I can picture if a messed up wedding.

Now I am picturing my backyard garden…well sort of. Since we rent I can’t around gardening all over the property. Instead I create small gardens in plastic pools. I drill holes in the bottom to let out extra water and the plants and herbs flourish. I am really late in starting this. I need to get my but in gear. I really loved having fresh herbs and tomatoes. One day, down the road I woudl love to have a huge garden with big, bright sunflowers, lilies, daisies, and tulips. Don’t mock my flower choices!

Wasps! Yes I just typed the word wasp, it popped in my head so I typed it. Thinking of all these plants and herbs got me thinking about bees, then wasps, then the time Anthony got stung indoors. Before AJ’s karate teacher set up his own Dojo, we had to take classes out of the local rec center. I had thrown both our jackets on the floor to watch him during class. Then when it was over I held out his jacket for him to put on. All of a sudden he emits a loud scream of bloody murder, I pull off the jacket thinking it’s leftover hay from the weekend and a huge wasp flies out. What a disaster my poor baby is in horrible pain. I was so thankful to the parents who helped.

Never leave your jackets on the floor and if you do, ALWAYS shake them out. You just never know what has crawled or flew inside of them. It took him months to even look at that jacket again.

So there you go, a post that started out with no direction, lead into a garden and ended with AJ making it through a terrifying wasp sting.
